      Comments about Hardwood Flooring Saw Kit:

      does a good job once you learn how to operate it. I used it to lay a floor(my first try) and the more I used it the better I got at it. Saw does the job of a miter and a table saw. Haven't replaced the blade yet. The saw does not remove dust very well from the work area so keep a vacuum cleaner handy.

          Comments about Hardwood Flooring Saw Kit:

          I have quite a few power tools including a table saw, radial arm saw, and miter saw at home in the midwest. But, I spend a lot of time visiting family New England and I wanted to build a bookcase, while there. I probably could have done well with a circular saw and router, but didn't feel inspired to buy tools I already own. I was about to buy a slide miter saw when I saw this. I was intrigued and wanted to try it out. Being a refurb made it within the range I wanted to pay. It came looking almost new. There were slight signs of use on the blade but is seemed sharp enough. I was a little put off as others have noted that you can't easily view the point where the blade enters the wood. This turned out not to be a problem. If you put your mark on the edge of the board you can easily align it with the slot it the table, like you would on a radial saw. I was tempted to take some of the guard components off, but it wasn't necessary, and since I plan to lend this to my daughter for siding her tiny house. I decided to leave them on. Anyway the screws are tamperproof. Turns out the guard components contribute to good dust collection which is excellent with a vacuum but mediocre with the included bag.
          As far as power goes, this is only 7A, but since it is driving such a small blade the power delivered to the teeth is probably comparable to a circular saw with twice the power. I was only cutting pine but with all the noise from the vacuum and saw I couldn't even tell when the blade entered the wood on a cross cut. I wondered it I had missed the wood, but no, it made a nice smooth cut. I was please with the rip performance as well, but of course there is a width limit, which I was able to deal with. The rip gage was spot on and is adjustable as is fence parallel. The anti-kick back pawls are not sharp enough to prevent kickback and use enough pressure to leave a scratch on soft pine. My biggest complaint is that the fence is a little difficult to align and not rigid enough in cross cut mode. The two anchor points are so close together that the left end will yield to pressure. Also it is not totally straight on the crosscut side. I'd recommend using a square to align it to the table slot every time and possibly using a clamp on the left end.
          This saw wasn't made for cabinetry but worked well enough to do a book shelf with a reasonable degree of accuracy. I'd choose a radial arm saw every time--too bad they have fallen in popularity. The radial saw has been a mainstay for both my dad and myself since the 50s. I think table saws are pretty inferior when I comes to versatility and the tasks we do most often especially dadoing for shelves. This saw should work well for the task it was designed for--flooring, but I've done floors very nicely with a small table saw close by. They have good dust collection and you seldom need to crosscut pieces longer that 4'. Still this will be a handy tool to have in New England where I spend a good deal of time with family. It will do most of the tasks I need with a fair degree of accuracy.

            Comments about Hardwood Flooring Saw Kit:

            Unit received in timely manner, in excellent condition, and as advertised. Use in installing laminate flooring. Previously used portable table saw and sliding miter saw both with Shop
            Vac attached got dust everywhere. Using the 3600 to install laminate flooring in 3 rooms upstairs. Same Shop Vac attached and no dust escapes. Blades are consumable items so bought extra blades when ordered the saw. Blade that came with saw still in use and getting very clean cuts. Momma happy with the "no dust" issue and we all know that if momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.

            New Vs. Reconditioned

            Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.

            • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
            • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
            • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee;
              New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 60 days.
