Comments about 46-cc 18-in 2-Cycle Gas Chain Saw:

Got this as a backup for my overacheiving 16" husqvarna that is 15 years old and getting a little tough to start (think the alcohol in our gasoline is killing the fuel system parts...) This has a big engine and started pretty easily. I don't think the chain is too sharp, but I have a chain sharpener and will try that before buying another chain (sharp chains make a big difference). Machine came without bar installed, and chain tension screw is in a lousy spot. Don't like the chain tip guard: this may impede cutting very large pieces of wood or the occasional tree crotch. Overall, good value.

Works well for small to medium trees. Cuts nicely.
Not the easiest to start, but never found a chainsaw that was. Great value for the price.

Comments about 46-cc 18-in 2-Cycle Gas Chain Saw:

Currently, I've only used the chainsaw for a few minutes to trim limbs. I'll shortly be using it to remove a pair of small trees so I'll attempt to update this review then.

I like this machine so far. I had read other reviews warning against the smaller ~40cc engines with the 18 and 20 inch saws and recommending this larger motor. So far I've had absolutely no issues with bogging it down.

Starting is usually awkward with chainsaws and this one is no different. It will start usually after one or two pulls with the choke on and then turn it off and give it a good yank. It has the starting throttle advance, so you have to grab the trigger and rev it once before it will idle down again. After that it runs fine with lots of power.

As is common with chainsaws, adjusting the chain tension is a bit of a pain due to the location of the tensioning screw hard up against the saw bar.

I particularly like my Ryobi gas powered trimmer and hoped this chainsaw would be as good. So for it's not quite as smooth and nice as the trimmer, but all in all it seems a solid little machine.

Comments about 46-cc 18-in 2-Cycle Gas Chain Saw:

I have many trees around my property and my OTHER chain saw bit the dust. I have a few RYOBI power tools so I decided I'd try this chain saw. I didn't want new so I bought this Refurbished one. Gezzz...Thing got here and it LOOKS like NEW. After I fueled and oiled I started it up. OK..I cheated..I used starting fluid..HA.HA. New engines are always a pain...but this thing started right up. First time I used starting fluid spray..I ran it for a few minutes and after that, it started up really easy each time.....
