I could have sworn that it said 'polisher' somewhere when I bought this but when recieved, this not suitable for that application as it would/will overheat. Looks like a good orbital sander though. Will compare to my Porter Cable 5"

There are 5inch round sand pads that have 5 holes and 8 holes, match the paper you buy to your sander's configuration, so the dust collection will work properly.

I have seen two types - 8 hole (like this Ryobi uses) and 5 hole.
I would match the holes on your sander with the sanding pads you buy, as the holes are how the sanding dust is pulled away from the work. A miss-matched sanding pad would probably work, but would be dusty.

5 inch round pads come in 8 hole, like this sander, and 5 hole. The holes line up with the holes in the base to allow dust to be pulled from the work surface. If your sander base has 8 holes use 8 hole paper, same for 5 hole.
