Large in tray and out tray help keep work stable.
I use it to plane rough sawn lumber. A digital readout of up and down planer movement and level of cut would be very helpful for reproducibility.
I really needed a planer and this was the perfect price. The packaging they sent it in almost failed, but the product did arive in one piece. At first it worked greated and I was very happy, but that did not last long. After just one hour of use it started stopping (or getting stuck), at first i thought that this was my fault, maybe I was trying to take off too much (I was only taking off 1/16" which is half its rated maximum). But it stopped doing that and I continued to use the machine taking off even less. Then it started stopping the feed mechanism again only this time there was no board in the planer. Then the feed mechanism just stopped working all together while the blades continued to work. This all happened in one day. CPO refunded my purchse which I am grateful for but I still need a planer. I suspect that a gear got stripped which if that can happen in one day of medium use than I think that is a major design flaw.
Product was defective and returned.
