Q:Is there a vacuum attachment for collecting dust during operation?
A:No, there is not a vacuum or dust collection attachment for this Ridgid grinder.
Q:I am wanting to clean old paint from my concrete pool deck using a wire cup wheel. Will the 7" angle grinder work?
A:Yes, the grinder could be used for that application
Q:I looked at the operations manual for this grinder. It says "never" use this grinder with a wheel designed for "cut-off" work....it is designed ONLY for 'grinding' operations. The manual says to never use this grinder with a Type 1 guard or wheel. Is this true? Why? I have never seen any of the other current grinders on this website say this. Just wondering why Ridgid would make this statement. It said using Type 1 cut-off wheels will cause serious injury. Is this true? If so, why is this Grinder (7" size) different than Dewalt, Bosch, Makita, B&D, etc, etc. Do you think this Manual is properly written? Thanks for an answer........I would buy this Grinder but not if it will ONLY allow the use of metal grinding wheels. Thanks........TB
A:Ridgid is trying to save you from yourself. Apparently somebody else tried it and hurt themselves, so now Ridgid has to add a disclaimer so they aren't responsible if you do it. The only reason I would think is because there is no BASE PLATE, like the one shown on the Bosch 1365K-46 14 in. to keep the tool from running away for you and add stability.
A:Yes, this grinder is only to be used for grinding. This is not designed to be used as a cut off tool. For more information, please contact Ridgid directly at 866-539-1710.
