What is the duty cycle and why in the manual it states the motor as being 2.75hp and in the listing it is 1.1hp?

Duty Cycle: This air compressor pump is capable of running continuously. However, to prolong the life of your air compressor, it is recommended that a 50%-75% average duty cycle be maintained; that is, the air compressor pump should not run more than 30-45 minutes in any given hour.

According to the DeWalt website listing this is 1.1 Hp.

      • A:

To determine the horsepower of any electric motor, determine the amount of current the motor draws. Then multiply that current by the line voltage (120). That will give you the amount power in watts the motor delivers. One horsepower equals 745 watts. Divide the power of your motor by 745 and that gives you the horsepower of your motor.
A word of advice here: never ever consider the term Peak horsepower when buying a tool that advertises that. It is a bogus number and has absolutely no meaning. Look at the current drain and do the above calculation for the real horsepower. Shot Vacs makers are the biggest perpetrators of this scam.

    New Vs. Reconditioned

What's the difference between New and Factory-Reconditioned?

Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.
    • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
    • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
    • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee; New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 60 days.
