      Not accurate/square 18" and 24" cuts

Comments about 10 in. Wet Tile Saw:

In short, if you need to cut 18", 24" and 18" diagonal AND you'd like those cuts to be visible with a 1/8" grout spacing (or less), this isn't the saw for you. If 80-90% of your cuts get covered with baseboard or trim, this is a great saw.

Immediately after receiving my DW24000, I started searching for a way to fix the alignment of this saw. Out of the box, it was misaligned for 24" cuts. I just couldn't get a straight/square cut to better than 1/16" consistently over a hard porcelain 24" tile (rip) and 18" diagonal (~25" cut). I was using the highly recommended T3 blade. I was using digital calipers, but the 1/16" or more error was easily visible with a tape.

The tray wobbles more than a 1/16", where you would start the cut, so I had to mark everything. But even then, you don't know if you should start the cut with a little more twist to the left, center or right. So I needed to scribe every cut with pencil and straight edge. Then, I'd cut a light 1/16" deep score over the top of the tile, along the scribed line. Then a second pass a little deeper, and finally a cut-through. This take several minutes, 3 or more passes per cut, and eventually this frustration was enough for me to send the saw back to CPO.

As the tray moves through the cut, you also feel light pressure each time the tray wheels go on and off the rails. The problem with this saw is the roller system. Right side track, Left side rod height, Left anti tip rail, etc. Anytime the third rollers (rear or front) come off the track, the table dips both in front and in the back such as when ripping 24". When the table dips, it has lateral instability (side to side wobble) And this is what will throw an otherwise true cut off. Forget about perfect radius with a profile blade. Yes, you can try to support the table and dampen the play by applying downward pressure at the end of your cut.

In the end, I spent way too much time tweaking with the center wheel alignment on the tray. Trying to tighten or loosen the top-side pressure holding the left-side wheels to the rail. Finally, trying to get the saw rails square to the cut.

In the end you learn, this saw CAN'T make reliable straight/square 24" & 25" cuts. If your cuts need to be within 1/16" to support a clean grout line in high-end custom showers and backsplashes, look elsewhere.

In ~2008 when this saw was released, there were far less 24" tiles available than there are today. I presume, many of the great reviews for this saw were for jobs smaller than 18" and 24" which are the new norm today.

Comments about 10 in. Wet Tile Saw:

This is an excellent saw!!! Bought this saw on a Sunday night and was delivered by Wednesday. It was really well packed and the instructions were very good.
The saw was easy to set-up and worked great out of the box, it did come with a blade( I haven't tried it yet) but I had already purchased one.
I immediately went to work on 250sq feet of 18" travertine tile, and it worked great!!!
It comes with a stop to make repeatable cuts extremely easy and cuts on an angle are pretty easy too. The blade sprays and guards are just has advertised and even though I didn't need too, I made a few 45 and 22/5 cuts and they were perfect.
I will need to use it for a little longer to get a better handle on all the futures, but so far I'm very impressed.

            New Vs. Reconditioned

Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.

            • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
            • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
            • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee;
New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 60 days.
