    I have used $300+ professional laser measures for many years and found them to be very useful. While this unit does not have all the bells and whistles of a more expensive unit - it does exactly what I need and at a fraction of the cost.

    Oh, and a handy hint, having read many reviews of this and similar products - if it measures to within 1/16" of your steel tape - it's probably your steel tape that is out, due to expansion or contraction of the steel with the temperature
