    Great idea, just one thing.....

    By fuzzy

Comments about Dremel Rotary Tool Chuck:

OK, I posted a review earlier on this. I was able to use my Monkey Wards tool to cut the chuck off of my Dremel 260. Here's what I found: The chuck was able to screw down far enough on the motor shaft, that it drove past the threads and seated on the larger shoulder of the motor shaft. I ended up grinding off a little of the chuck, and then grinding a long taper on my Dremel's shaft. This allowed me to use the chuck without a problem (Plus a little grease on the threads).

    saves time!

    By thisch

Comments about Dremel Rotary Tool Chuck:

As mentionner, it dressed from time to time, especially when using smaller diameters. The remedy is quite simple: unscrew it completely and push the jaws back in. IMO, it is a very modest drawback considering the convenience of one-check-fit all, and not having to try many collets before finding the right one. Plus, in most case, it does not require the use of the key, saving even more time. Mine just broke this weekend after almost 10 years of loyalty, and I can't wait to replace it.

      The chuck does work

      By Jerryboone

from Johnson City, Tennessee, United States

Comments about Dremel Rotary Tool Chuck:

I have been using the same chuck since 1997. One does have to lubricate the chuck with WD 40 from time to time. If the chuck gets wet, dry it. Take care of the chuck, clean it from tiny particles that would clog it up. The main advantage to the chuck is speed in changing tools. I like mine so much I put it on the new cordless dremel I bought after years of service on my old dremel.

      Doesn't work on 4200

      By CitizenPrime

      from Hattiesburg, MS, United States

Comments about Dremel Rotary Tool Chuck:

I just bought the 4486 chuck for my brand new 4200 dremel, hoping that I could start using bits smaller than 1/8. I can't figure out how it fits. I don't think it does. I'm beginning to think I can't use bits smaller than 1/8 in this dremel. If that's the case I'd like to have known that before I bought it. Frustrated.

According to the manual this chuck can be used with the F013039519. However, it states the chuck should not be used with grout removal bits.

        Q:

I have a chuck that I got a long while back but can not figure out how to make it work. Maybe something is missing. What pushes the 3 section grippers forward and back? Mine has the outer part, the three piece grippers and an end cap that attaches to the dremel.

        Is something missing?

        thanks,
