Considered Dewalt, Makita and Festool for over 3 months. Read all the reviews for each. I don't cut a large amount of sheet goods, so price was very important. Now that I've used the Dewalt, I'm glad I wasn't swayed by the Euro design appeal of the Festool. My Dewalt couldn't work better. CPO was very responsive to an initial glitch in sending a reconditioned product, and got back to me with a new one quickly.

Each time the new saw comes from CPO I run it to find out that the blade wobbles due to bent or off-balance arbor or whatever. That obviosly doesn't help with a saw that is supposed to give you a smooth cut with reduced tear-out. Its dissapointing because the rest of the package is great, but the poor manufacturing/inspecting renders the saw useless. Unless, for some reason, you needed really straight cuts framing a house. The DeWalt tech suggested I drive four hours to have the factory guys look at it. I think Ill just go for the Festool.

I have just completed remodeling my kitchen including a new peninsula and custom built cabinets using the Dewalt Track Saw. See pictures for results. The plywood mitered corners are so tight that an experienced wood carver insisted I had carved the corners from solid stock until I showed him the joinery inside the cabinets. My shop is only 10'x12'. Both the 59" and the 102" tracks are needed. Two joined 59" tracks are less accurate and too long for my shop.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have just finished remodeling my kitchen using this tool(including full custom built cabinets and a peninsula. Plywood corners mitered with this saw are so tight that an experienced wood carver was convinced they were cut from solid stock until I showed him the joinery I used inside the cabinets.
