Great router. Right size, right weight, powerful enough for most jobs, plunge base. What more could you ask for? How about an edge guide fot the plunge base. A router without an edge guide diminsihes the functionality by 1/2. Although tthe plunge router base was designed to accespt an edge guide, NO ONE at Dwalt/Porter Cable (same router) seems to have any idea where a guide could be found. COME ON MAN!

      Hot in too many ways?

      • Light
      • Relatively quiet

      Cons

      • May Run Hot
      • No Hard Case Storage

      Best Uses

The fit and finish are pretty good and the LED lighting is more useful than I expected.

Using a 3/8 bit I did some passes about 1/4 inch deep in cherry. After a short time the router got hot enough to be uncomfortable but not painful. The bit was well used, so the router may have struggled - hard to tell. Its something to watch over time.

The base is small relative to a full size router, neither a good or bad thing. Easier to handle than a full size router and the accuracy seems better than a laminate router I was previously using.

With a full size router I wear hearing protectors. This one is much quieter, could almost go without the earplugs.

Adjusting height in the fixed base works well, haven't messed with the plunge version.

Overall I am happy with it, just with it came with a hard storage case instead of a soft bag.

Use for small quick jobs instead of using larger router or
router table. Works great, and is smooth, powerful, and easy to
          set up and use.

Delivery was very quick, and as usual, dewalt products live up to their reputation. Price was the best out there and I did research these for some time.

After a couple of weeks it works as expected. I have a older Bosch Colt router and I like this better. Easier to adjust the depth. It's a little heavier, but not enough to worry about. I haven't had a chance to try out the plunge base. I was surprised that it did come in a decent size bag for storage. I don't think that was mentioned in the description.

The DEWALT DWP611PK kit includes a router tool and plunge base; to use a DWP611PK with a dust collector system one would also need a DNP616 Dust Collector Adapter for plunge routers.
