good for my use.
hard to take apart, blade change, same as all other stanley knifes. you extend the blade to the max and press the buttom to the left of the end of the knife and pull it out, flip the blade or change it

Inserting blade
...is really hard. Finally got it to work by making sure that the tab was pushed FULLY forward, past the point where it naturally clicks and seems like it should stop, and then I was able to work the blade in.

Useless without a blade
Can't get the blade into the knife. So, unless you have a need for a bladeless knife, do not waste your money on this piece of garbage.

Most durable razor knife I've ever used
This knife is the best one I have used, and I've used and broken lots of knives, but I have never broken a dewalt....lost a few wich is the only reason I've needed to buy more

Great if you need bladeless knife
Bkade locking mechanism does not work. I'm a tool and die maker so I think I'm qualified to use this tool. I watched the DeWalt video on installing blades. Mine is certainly defective, as are so many others mentioned in these reviews. Obviously poorly engineered and poor quality control if they ship so many defective units.

Poor Q&A
I do a lot of handyman work for myself with useful tools. This is not one of them. VERY POOR Q&A...... SAD.....

Useless
For a Dewalt tool made in USA its a piece of junk. Even after watching video I still am not able to insert blade. Will return to store and buy another brand.

Defective item.
Good looking. Bought 2, both defective. It is unfortunate that Dewalt passed on this item. It could hurt the brand

Pros

Sweet knife
This is a great knife and easy to load unless you are a woman or a limp wrist because you must push the button all the way forward. I have dropped it a hundred times from pretty high up and not even a chip in the paint.

Seriously, I can't insert the blade!?!
I have been trying to put the blade in that came with this tool and can't figure it out..... Seriously, that's crazy and I have worked with a ton of other tools and never had this problem!

How do I install the blade properly on the dwht10046?
jt on Mar 1, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Slide the blade button on top all the way forward. Press the black button on the side of the knife in and load the blade in from the front of the knife. When the blade is in at the proper depth and you release the black button it will lock in place. Worked first time. You do not have to open the knife with an allen wrench as noted in the other response.
