A Gem Right Out Of The Box!
Great saw! Sturdy feel but still light enough. Handles everything we run through it. Dado throat plate is not available through DeWalt. Used a plate for a 744 and had to modify it. Nice blade came with the saw too.

Great Table saw, very good value.
Easy to assemble, and better, easy to make everything accurate. Further, easy to make as safe as you want. I just use the riving knife, but its very easy to exchange it with the blade guard and its riving knife. The geared rip fence is an A-1 design idea. No more measuring and re-measuring to make sure fence is parallel. Once the blade is set parallel to the fence that's it. After using an old Craftsman for the past two years, the DeWalt is a dream - takes a dado blade too. Wish I had bought this 2 years ago.

    Awesome Saw
I got my saw about a month ago - wanted to use it a bit before reviewing it.

I bought reconditioned to save some money since I won't use it every day, let alone every week. I do occasionally projects but I wanted a saw I know I could make furniture quality cuts with, and make repeatable cuts with. I looked into many portable table saws - from all the brands and one thing that attracted me to the dewalt was the gear drive fence guide. I knew it would be well made, but that gear drive fence was a key feature - the rest is equally useful.

Portability - I don't have a lot of space in my current garage and plan on building a shed - until then I needed as much table space I could get - while still being able to put it somewhere. The Dewalt model folds easily - stand it comes with is smaller than the bosch or the ridgid - and it is every bit as sturdy.

The saw is powerful - and eats through hardy board with the right blade, but it also eats OAK with very clean cuts as well. I did have to spend about an hour verifying setup - the instructions were easy to follow. hex key set, a good square, a good tape measure or ruler and some time and all was peachy. after setup - dial out a 9 1/2 inch cut and that is what you will get. Can't be happier.

    Excellent Product
My wife and I downsized to a townhouse and i had to give up my two car garage shop and my full size table saw. I did a lot of research before choosing the Dewalt 7490. This saw is everything it is advertised to be and more. Set up was a snap, the manual states that adjustments are made at the factory and should not be needed and they are correct. Blade and fence alignment, everything was right on right out of the box. Plenty of power and runs as smoothly as any big saw. The blade is fully enclosed below the table and with the built in dust port connected to my shop vac the saw is almost dust free. The rack and pinion fence is a breeze to use and is dead accurate. I do a lot of small work involving very narrow rip cuts and the "swing over" auxiliary fence adds another measure of safety and accuracy. I purchased a fine cut finish blade too but the furnished blade cuts so cleanly that I may never need it.
My saw will live at the end of my workbench which serves as an out feed table and I have no need to move it around. The scissors stand furnished with the saw looks sort of puny in the literature and I was sure I would have to build a table just for but it is surprising strong and very stable.
Although i have no need to move it the whole rig is very portable for job site use.
This is the perfect saw for me, Dewalt quality throughout and I would highly recommend this saw to anyone in the market

Excellent quality at a low price
The exact saw I needed for ripping oak plywood and for dado cuts. This Dewalt table should include a dado throat plate since it is dado-capable. Nonetheless, I did dado cuts without any throat plate and had precise results. Good safety attachments.

Great balance of features and price...
Bought this for a big deck and screen porch addition. Ended up doing Siding on the home (hardie Blade) as well. Great cuts, stand is sturdy. Hooked up a larger shop vac to the bottom of the exhaust outlet and it seems to work much cleaner this way. Very happy with purchase.

Great saw. Easy to set up and easy to use. Best feature is the rail system. Once dialed in it is accurate every time.

    good saw. some questionable quality
Purchased this saw to do home projects

    Pros:
compact - all the equipment can be stored on the saw in their own compartments.
great over all compact table saw.

    Cons:
miter gauge guide has too much play in the guide.
miter gauge angle tightener loosens during sawing.
lock nut for storing blade guard assembly snapped on first use.
Stand requiring bolting to the saw. Not so portable if you bolt the stand to the saw.

I liked the saw. Cut quality is good. Disappointed in the quality of the components - especially the miter gauge play and the lock nut snapping on first use.

    New Vs. Reconditioned

What's the difference between New and Factory-Reconditioned?

Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.
    • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
    • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
    • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee; New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 60 days.
