The DeWALT Self-Leveling 3 Beam Laser Pointer is a self-leveling unit accurate to 1/4 in. at 100 ft. The power lock system features a single lever on/off switch that locks the pendulum in the off position for added durability. The DW083K also features built-in magnetic pivoting brackets that mount easily in metal surfaces, and the integrated track clearance enables fast and accurate bottom and top track installation. The focused laser beam keeps dot size small over longer distances for improved accuracy and visibility. It also features an overmolded housing which helps to maintain calibration under jobsite conditions.

BEST ANSWER: Yes, a point laser system can be used to tape a stripe, you will just need to mark a few different points to make sure it is straight.
