I use it every day at work ,I like that it run's on battery or electric
This Jobsite Radio is nice and compact, and while it doesn't quite stand up to its two-speaker cousins, it can hold its own in the right environment. It's not as powerful as the big boys, but works fine on the bench, or in a home jobsite environment. Sound is rich, but not too bassy.
The shortcomings are no secret: The radio will not charge batteries, only run on them. Of course, if it DID charge batteries, it would cost a lot more! One hidden hang-up is that with the DeWalt 12v MAX batteries, the placement of the battery slot makes it a little tough to eject a spent battery from the radio. It's possible, of course, but not always easy.
The cord is a plus, and easily stows on the radio itself. And the radio works great with an iPod or even a smartphone that plays tunes.
Bottom Line: If you've got to crank music up to the max on the job, get one of DeWalt's full-size jobsite radios. If you work in smaller spaces and don't need ear-splitting volume, this could be your radio.
This unit works as well as larger units and it fits anywhere. It'll take up less space in your truck, too. It has a nice protective cover on the side which can hold an iPod or iPhone out of the elements if you'd rather listen to your own mixes.
