    I am active DYIer who loves professional high-grade tools. I am currently building a massive deck (30x40) in the backyard, and needed a stronger, and longer lasting drill then my 12v Craftsman. I did a lot of research and was torn between the Milwaukee (Fuel 18v) and Dewalt (BL 20v) Brushless impact drill/driver. First of all the Dewalt is not 20v, but 18v -The company listed this to keep people from confusing themselves when purchasing other batteries from Dewalt (Example: 18XLP). Both the M-18 fuel and BL impact perform to similar standards and specs. The only reason I purchased this item, was for the push button chuck release, which turned out to be a pain. I was driving lag bolts and found after heavy use that the bit would get stuck. I would have to either jiggle or pry them apart. This defeated the purpose of the a "quick release." My father shortly after punched the M-18 to speed up production. After continued use of both tools I found that the dewalt was more confortable, had a better light than the M-18 (my opinion) but did get hotter then the M-18. Both drills lasted all day and I was very impressed with the performance and power that the brushless motor provided. Both impacts have over load protection, and some kind of factory warranty while ranging in the same price range. The dewalt was a little easier to squeeze into small places while the M-18 was a little faster when driving screws and drilling holes. Over all I am still not sure which BL impact drill is better, I guess it would be down to brand loyalty. Only with time, will I found out which tool and battery lasts longer (before replacement).

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

        I install high end windows and doors and this dewalt has exceeded my expectations. Very powerfull, light, and 3 speeds are a lifesaver when working with high end products. A little pricey but worth every penny.
