i don't always change bits that often so that is why i wanted a keyed chuck, so that i don't lose the one in the drill moving around a lot. works for what i bought it for.

This one can take quite a bit of abuse. I drill mostly through mild steel and stainless, and it can take the pressure needed to get through quickly. It can be difficult to keep your speed steady at ultra low RPM's (around 100 to 600 or so), but it can be controlled with a steady finger. Excellent bang for the buck. I also like to use the belt clip to hold the cord in place before I wrap it around for storage - helps keep it from crimping up to much.

Comments about 3/8-in 0-2,500 RPM 6.0 Amp VSR Drill:

I bought this for an "everyday" corded drill for use in the shop and elsewhere around the house, office and my rentals. It is a good value, power and features/vs price. This is first corded drill I have owned with a belt clip, and I can already see advantages to this design. The additional discount for recon status makes it an even better deal. I would rate the tool as very good and would buy another.
