Warranty for all Delta Machinery Products - Five Year Limited New Product Warranty (180 days for reconditioned products)
DELTA will repair or replace, at it’s expense, and it’s option, any new DELTA machine, machine part, or machine accessory which in normal use has proven to be defective in workmanship or material, provided that the customer returns the product prepaid to a DELTA factory service center or authorized service station with proof of purchase of the product within 5 years and provides DELTA with reasonable opportunity to verify the alleged defect by inspection. For all refurbished DELTA product, the warranty period is 180 days. DELTA will not be responsible for any asserted defect which has resulted from normal wear, misuse, abuse or repair or alteration made, or specifically authorized by anyone other than an authorized DELTA service facility or representative. Under no circumstances will DELTA be liable for incidental or consequential damages resulting from defective products. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty is DELTA’s sole warranty and sets forth the customer’s exclusive remedy, with respect to defective products; all other warranties, express or implied, whether of merchantability, fitness for purpose, or otherwise, are expressly disclaimed by DELTA.

I would like to have a greater tail stock travel for using the Jacobs chuck for drilling. It's not a major issue, but inconvenient to stop the lathe, withdraw the bit and slide the tail stock closer to the work piece, reinserting the bit as you do, then start the lathe and continue drilling. For most of the pens I do, if just had 3/4" more travel, it could be done in one operation.

No problem turning small items such as pens or boxes. Great for bowls and plates. Up to 12-1/2" is the most useful sizes. It may not long enough for the useful spindle work but it's an advantage for compactness if you don't do spindle work. Optional extension is available if you need one.
It has very smooth and quiet operation, no significant vibration. Variable speed is also handy for large or irregular stocks and reversible switch is a plus for sanding. Switch position is little too high to reach but it's not that bad. The plastic belt cover was flimsy and was broken when I received it. It is not critical but need some improvement in the future. Over all it is great product. I highly recommend it.

I am a novice lathe user and took up pen making. This lathe meets more than I expected. It is so quiet and smooth running that my neighbor is also going to order the same model. I am also about to make some chess pieces as well. I have yet to find any cons.

From what everyone says, this should be a good product. Mine came with broken parts, so I haven't used it yet--after having it for over a week. No one seemed to care at CPO, so I went directly to Delta. they have treated me very well. I am sure the lathe will perform as advertised--when I finally get to use it.

Good machine just had to make one adjustment to the head stock to align to the tail stock. Head stock left to right was off to tail stock.
