Comments about Delta 12-1/2" Variable-Speed Midi Lathe:

It really needs a digital readout for speedcontrol.
It is heavy so make sure you have some grunt help to set it up on stand or whatever

The machine just purrs along with sufficient power to do most anything you wish.

Can this tool be used to make pool cues? I am looking for my husband, & he says he needs a metal lathe. Is this a wood lathe?

                A:

Yes, this is a wood lathe. You would not be able to make pool cues just with the lathe only. You would need a bed extensions to add an additional 25-1/2" or 2 depending on the length of the cue sticks. Also, you would need a stand and and extension for the lathe and each of the bed extensions.

I am buying DELTA Lathe: Delta Industrial 46-460 12-1/2-Inch Variable-Speed Midi Lathe from "amazon.com". Is it possible to get lathe with 220 V, 50 Hz motor?
Because such electric current standrd in Lithuania.
Amazon.com doesn't indicates el. motor data in the description of item.
110 V, 60 Hz motor ok in America, but mismatch in LT.

              Q:

Who is selling accessories for this product, Delta has only a few, Delrprotercable which they have in the manual is Portercable, Woodcraft no laonger has any Delta wood lathe product, why don't you offer a more complete list for them? Delta has the lathe pick as the best just by a hair and some one needs to support the product or they will drop just as woodturning is picking up.
