Warranty for all Delta Machinery Products - Five Year Limited New Product Warranty (180 days for reconditioned products)
DELTA will repair or replace, at it’s expense, and it’s option, any new DELTA machine, machine part, or machine accessory which in normal use has proven to be defective in workmanship or material, provided that the customer returns the product prepaid to a DELTA factory service center or authorized service station with proof of purchase of the product within 5 years and provides DELTA with reasonable opportunity to verify the alleged defect by inspection. For all refurbished DELTA product, the warranty period is 180 days. DELTA will not be responsible for any asserted defect which has resulted from normal wear, misuse, abuse or repair or alteration made, or specifically authorized by anyone other than an authorized DELTA service facility or representative. Under no circumstances will DELTA be liable for incidental or consequential damages resulting from defective products. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty is DELTA’s sole warranty and sets forth the customer’s exclusive remedy, with respect to defective products; all other warranties, express or implied, whether of merchantability, fitness for purpose, or otherwise, are expressly disclaimed by DELTA.

I have only used the lathe for a couple of hours so far, so it remains to be seen how it holds up in the long run. However, the machine appears well made. Nice castings. Accurate: the tailstock center lined up perfectly with the headstock center. Although the ways had slight patches of rust; they cleaned up easily with a Scotch-Brite pad. The machining on the ways is very smooth (though not ground, the banjo and tailstock slide very smoothly with no trace of hesitancy produced by the machine marks on the ways). The access to the pulleys is from the front on top and from the end on the bottom: a real plus. The access door on top is plastic: a small minus. The lathe has some features that other small lathes don't have like 24 point indexing. The HUGE label plate on the front was fortunately easy to remove. I might have been tempted to ignore it if it had been on the back.

I purchased this lathe after doing much searching for a powerful, yet affordable lathe for pen making. I chose the Delta over the 'cheaper' mini's because most of them aren't expandable. The Delta runs 4000rpms with no vibration and very little sound. It is smooth, powerful, and has been engineered to last a lifetime.
