Bosch was founded in 1886 as Robert Bosch’s Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering in Stuttgart, Germany after Robert Bosch returned from the United States having worked and apprenticed as a precision mechanic. In 1902 the company’s first successful product, the Bosch magneto, an ignition device that provided a reliable spark to internal combustion engines took off and by 1906 Bosch was back in the United States to expand its business and open more manufacturing facilities.
What began as a single innovation opened up new opportunities for the company and The Bosch Group went on to develop automotive, industrial and building technologies as well as producing consumer goods. Milestones over the years such as introducing a hammer drill that could strike and rotate at the same time in 1932 and developing a mobile hydraulic lift in 1953 have build a real foundation for what would be the Bosch tool division.
In 1980 the Robert Bosch Power Tool Corporation was established and today, offers a full range of Bosch tools. Each year Bosch launches more than a hundred new tools into the market, categories ranging from woodworking to demolition. Bosch is committed to providing the best results, whether it’s the advanced lithium-ion technology used in their line of Bosch cordless tools, the Tuned Mass Anti-Vibration System featured in their hammers, the versatile applications of the Multi-X line or the wide variety of precision accessories and attachments available to compliment their tools.
