I have not had and opportunity to use the side suport yet, but it was quite easy to install and set up. It appears to be very substantial and will easily support my requirements. I would highly reccomend this to anyone using the Bosch Table Saw. It adds to the functionality and safety of the product.
The rear support available on the this saw is very good. It makes you wonder why Bosch didn't use the exact same design on the left support. The left support doesn't extend out far enough. It is better than nothing, though.
Bosch has still not corrected problems with this piece of equipment. When pulling the extension out, it binds as if one of the rails is bent. No amount of ajusting will eliminate the problem. When pulling out the extension, the stop on the left rail hits the mounting bracket but the stop on the right is off by about 1/2 in. When closing the extension, neither stop hits the mounting brackets.
A left-side support is very useful on the small-size Bosch 4100 table. This adjustable, sliding support works reasonably well, although I wish it extended farther out from the table. But it's a lot better than not having one at all.
Installed quickly on Bosch 4100 table saw. Seems a little droopy or lower on the side than I'd like but looks like it will end the left hand side of the saw the way the extendable slide out does on the right hand.
