Comments about 18V Cordless Lithium-Ion 1/2 in. Brushless Compact Tough Hammer Drill Driver Kit with L-BOXX 2 Case:
Out of the box, after battery charging, I helped build a hundred-foot fence using both the clutch and hammer drill and then a bookshelf. The chuck was straight, and the unit survived an occasional small drop, driving short and long screws. The 4-amp battery is fine—too good! I would have preferred the smaller battery as an option for the complimentary [extra] battery, so customers should think carefully about whether they want a long-lasting battery (before re-charging) or something lighter. There is plenty of power in this unit, and I think a smaller capacity and lighter battery would be just fine and appropriate sometimes.
For the L-BOXX-2, it would be nice to make the tray customizable for the bits and other paraphernalia, like the bits—these things just get thrown into the trays, and they rattle around and get disorganized. I'lll have to visit a hardware store for some storage scheme or make or sew something—or modify the tray myself.
Also, the bit holder rotates when tapped or hit or snagged. I don't see a good reason for this (ability to rotate), and dimple here and there in design and manufacturing would be an easy preventive fix—or a second screw to this holder. Alas, there's no fix for this, except to not attach it to the unit.
I like this hammer-drill a lot. I'll customize what I can.
