I had read reviews about the GLL3-80 for sometime. The opions were mixed about it being accurate brand new out of the box. I had a chance to observe this model in action. I liked what I saw the lines were brite and thinner than what I was expecting. I got a chance to check it for accuracy. It was at the max for in being accepted horizontal, vertical was great.
When I discovered CPO's website, had reconditioned models at a very good price I figured that the tolerances would be tightened up on those units. I was right, the unit I got, all 3 planes were perfect (spot on) and the unit and case looked like brand new. I couldn't be happier. I used it on a vaulted beamed ceiling. The room had lots of windows. For the amount of brightness of the room it did great, the lines were brighter than our rotary laser we have. Though in a very brite room the lines will be faint but with red laser glasses you can pick them up. This unit saved a lot of time we had beams coming in at right angles. The only weak point I experanced was it was very sensitive to floor movement, so if someone is walking around and the floor has a litte give moves. There are other models that have a 3 plane feature that servo motors to keep line stable but $200 to $300 more I'll save my money for a little rare movment.

It works as I expected it to. I received it a week ago and have used it to set a odd run of base molding and two drop in ceilings. It sets up fast and gives us a line to work from that is far better than we can set with any level. The only problem I have had is getting it into place to set my base lines. I should have gotten the tripod and or extend-a-pole with the bracket, they are next on my needed tool list. I think it will get used on about every job from now on.

I use this laser to set cabinets, tile work & plumb walls very nice to have 3 planes or 6 cross marks, if it's like my other bosch tools I will be happy for a long time.

From the planning stages, to the final inspection. From the foundation to the rafter layout, from the floor to the accoustical ceiling. One the most used tools that I have.It works a whole lot better then this page is designed. It add to what I was writing & would not let me edit their words out. This designer would never make it with Bosch!

First laser which I ordered was unacceptable, thick lines at about 30 feet distance, accurate reading was impossible.
With professional help and support over the phone, CPO personnel sent me a RMA# which is used later at Fedex ship center to ship a package for free.
Second Laser (also Recon) is great, lines are thin enough (at the same distance about 30') to do accurate readings.
Five stars ;) for the Laser
6 stars for help and support at CPO.
                Thank you.

                  Q:

One review says the beam is almost 1/4" wide at 25'. Really? If that's a defect, then is there a "no wider than" spec for beam at given distance? What is the beam width at 65'?

                    A:

The laser beam is approximately 1/8" wide. Also, the beam is accurate 1/4 of an inch up to 100 feet.

                New Vs. Reconditioned

Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.

                • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
                • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
                • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee;
New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 60 days.
