Great Saw, needs a dual laser feature

By Dano77

from Old Town, ME

Comments about Bosch 12 in. Dual-Bevel Glide Miter Saw:

I love this saw. The axial glide arm is effortless to use. It was dead on accurate out of the box. My only wish is that it had a dual laser line for making super accurate cuts on crown molding. I would love to see a laser attachment that wasn't a washer. ...oh, and make it one of those really bright green lasers for us "old foggies."

Comments about 12 in. Dual-Bevel Glide Miter Saw:

This is no doubt the best miter box I have ever owned. The glide action is smooth, the 14 inch depth cut is also a good improvement. I work in a custom door shop where cuts are no doubt critical and this saw delivers. Thanks CPO again for another great product at a great price!

Comments about 12 in. Dual-Bevel Glide Miter Saw:

The sliding mechanism is second to none. This saw is nothing short of perfect! Every adjustment is positive, accurate, and easy to adjust. It fits right against the wall due the the gliding design and not those two tompson rods that most sliding mitre saws have. It is pretty quiet, but I would recommend hearing protection for long exposures. It comes mostly assembled except for a locking handle and the mitre locking shaft. They were both easy to install. My only complaint was the condition of the box when it arrived, it looked like gorillas delivered it and the top was ripped open and exposed to the elements. Luckly, the saw had enough internal packing to prevent any damage. I am hoping for years of service from this saw.

Comments about 12 in. Dual-Bevel Glide Miter Saw:

      I think I got Swede's saw!!!
Mine is doing the same thing. The blade is heeling as it travels and no way to adjust it!!!
Also the left fence is bent slightly and they we're both badly out of line.
At least I could shim them to line them up. The saw is powerful!!! Very smooth action too!! The guard works great! The blade that comes with it is a framer at best and that's a bit generous!!
I put a good 60 tooth thin kerf Diablo on it and it made all the difference.
So now just wait n see what the seller says bout returning it for another or maybe I'll get a new one for a few bucks more like Swede did!!! I'll update this when I find out.

Comments about 12 in. Dual-Bevel Glide Miter Saw:

I needed something more portable than a Unisaw for remodeling work ;-) While the GCM12SD does not produce the same quality of cut as a Unisaw, it certainly will get the job done for trim work, cutting shelves, 2 bys, etc on site. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, features, and the amount of metal instead of plastic in the saw. The downside is a little more weight, but I consider that to be better than the alternative. I expected a lot and feel that this saw exceeds my expectations.

I opted to buy a refurb to save some bucks and have no regrets - the saw looked new and never used. As a matter of principle I went through the entire setup and adjustment process. Took me a over an hour, but now I know all of the settings are just right. The manual walks through all of the adjustments step by step with great explanations and illustrations. Only had to change 2 settings, but I am glad I took the time and suggest that everyone do the same to avoid making expensive firewood.

Does this saw have an " adjustable stop mechanism" for notching wood instead of cutting all the way thru it? For example if a person wanted to notch out a 4x4 post to fit a 2x4. Thanks!

      New Vs. Reconditioned

What's the difference between New and Factory-Reconditioned?

Factory-Reconditioned products have been returned to the manufacturer and are restored to like-new operating condition; they go through a rigorous testing and inspection process. Plus, they offer a significant savings vs. new.
      • Reconditioned products may have minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches that do not affect item performance.
      • Reconditioned products may not come with all of the consumables the new version comes with (bits, sanding pads/papers, cases, etc.).
      • Both come with a manufacturer warranty and are covered by our Money Back Guarantee; New is 30 days, Reconditioned is 60 days.
