            Comments about 18V Ni-Cd Slide Battery (2-Pack):

We have several B&D tools that take these batteries. Over the years, I've been a bit underwhelmed by their longevity. The ENDURANCE (how long they last on one charge) is pretty fair. But within a couple of years they fade, and fade quickly. B&D doesn't offer good lithium ion batteries that fit. Indeed, the lithium batteries they DO offer (in other sizes) have gotten universally terrible reviews, so I wouldn't buy them, even if they WERE available. So we're stuck with these batteries...unless we decide to replace six perfectly good B&D tools with Craftsman C3 tools (Craftsman lithium batteries are very good). Too bad. ANYWAY, if you need to buy these batteries, this is the best price I've found for them.

I used this attached to my leaf blower. It holds a charge for a long time and is very powerful thus far. My old battery didn't last long at all.

You would need to press down on the tab on the back of the battery to release it from the trimmer and slide the battery out.

How do I remove this storage and carrying cap on this 18V battery? This sounds so foolish, but I can't get this orange cover to slide off. Do I need a special tool?

No, there is not a special tool to remove the orange cover. It should be removable by pushing up and sliding off.
